Edith Piaf was a popular French singer known for hits like “La Vie En Rose,” “Non, je ne regrette rien,” “Hymne a l’amour” and more. As a small child, her parents left her with her paternal grandmother who ran a brothel in Normandy. Many of the prostitutes there helped raise and look after the young Piaf. In the mid-1930′s, her singing was discovered in a nightclub and year later, her fame grew as she became one of France’s most renowned female singers.
